Transportation Options To Consider For The Next Time You Travel

3/11/2014

Travel Tranportation Options
By FOMO Girl
When considering traveling, it is important to think of the best mode of transportation. Traveling by car can offer many more sights and opportunities for side trips. Traveling by train can offer a chance to relax and get some work done if you wanted. Planes can cover ground fast but do not allow much movement and one cannot simply get off the plane in-flight. Each mode of travel has its own advantages and disadvantages to be considered and some of these are outlined in this article.

Travelling by plane can be a way to greatly reduce traveling time, while increasing time that can be spent enjoying the trip. Also, you are free to entertain yourself while the pilots and other staff take care of everything. You can sit back and enjoy the flight, while traveling in comfort.

Taking a train can be an attractive mode of travel for many reasons. For one it does not require effort from the individual beyond sitting in their seat. A person is free to do whatever they want to do while they are en route. There are also many other reasons why traveling by train is enjoyable.  If you are touring Europe, take advantage of their outstanding rail system. Instead of flying to each of your destinations, only fly into your first city and then hop on the train. Not only is it much more affordable, but also by traveling overland, you are sure to get an amazing look at the area beyond your major city stops.

Bus travel is a great way to see the countryside. It allows you an inexpensive way to get from destination to destination while sitting back and allowing someone else to do the driving. You will get to enjoy the scenery and even have frequent stops to see each place, without having to spend too much or bother with gas expenses.

Traveling by bicycle can have many positive effects on a person and on the overall traveling experience. It will allow you to see everything from a very different perspective. It will also save on buying gas and will definitely increase the amount of exercise you get. A bicycle trip should not be overlooked, especially if you are up for an adventure.

Sometimes by choosing multiple means of travel you can get the best of everything. For example by taking a plane somewhere and renting a car when you arrive, you can get the benefits of a quick flight as well as the benefits of having a car to go wherever you want while at your destination.

Taxi’s can often be a great way to get around a particular city, because they are the local who knows where everything is.  Whether you are traveling within the United States or in a foreign country, always make sure the taxi cabs you use are certified though. There is usually a sticker visible from the back seat of the vehicle. If you are unsure, research city-licensed cabs before you travel. This way, you can avoid unlicensed cabs that overcharge their patrons, and save money to do more fun things during your travels.

So, these are just a few different transportation options and issues that you should consider next time you are planning you next vacation or adventure.

How is that travel FOMO coming along?  If you need to find the cure, you know that FOMO Travel is the only one with all the answers.

Medical Tips when traveling
By FOMO Girl
Although intended to be a leisurely and relaxing activity, travel can sometimes be unnecessarily stressful and fraught with disaster. A vacation can turn into a nightmare if you conduct your trip without the proper planning. To make the most of your travel plans in the future, read through these medical and first aid related tips below.

To ensure you have a pleasant and safe traveling experience, make sure you have travel insurance and that it is valid in the country you're traveling to. Doing this will make you feel more secure, and make it easier to enjoy your trip. It could prevent big problems down the line if you do fall ill.

Remote areas are often among the most interesting of possible travel destinations. Just make sure you take necessities like your prescription medicines with you. One way of looking at it is that if something isn't available for sale where you are then you probably didn't need it anyway! Items like medicines, however, can be indispensable so don't leave having them to chance.

If you take prescription medications, plan for your vacations. Carry enough of your medications with you to cover your entire trip plus an additional week. You will most likely not be able to fill prescriptions while traveling, plus you want to be covered if you are delayed at any point during your trip.

Be careful, and remember any food allergies while visiting other countries. If you experience severe reactions to certain foods, you must become fluent in the words the natives use when it comes to their food. This will allow you to communicate to others what foods you are trying to avoid.

When traveling to a country where you do not speak the language and you have diabetes, it is important to learn a few key phrases in the language of the country or countries where you will be traveling. Learn the phrases "I need sugar," "I have diabetes," and "I need a doctor."

While traveling, do not bully your body into believing you will be sick no matter what. If you suffer from motion sickness, then worrying will only exacerbate the problem. Additional stress should be avoided while traveling. Stress can lower your immune system. Try not to let delays, crying children, or your own imagination get the best of your temper.

Vacations should be fun, not another source of irritation. The tips in this article will help you get through the annoying aspects of traveling, and enjoy all the best parts of it instead. No one should have to spend their vacation worrying. Enjoy your trip, and have a great time!

Now we have got all that sorted out, how about heading over to FOMO Travel to find that cure for travel FOMO.

Road Trip Tips
By FOMO Girl
For some the road trip is the only way to travel. If you're going to be taking a road trip do these simple things before hand so you don't end up stranded half way across the country.

Number one, be sure to have your mechanic give your car a once over before you depart. The last thing you need in the middle of no where are easily preventable mechanical failures.

When planning a road trip, don't forget to budget for the cost of fuel. While many other costs can be easily calculated in advance, the cost of gas is more difficult to figure, and can also add up surprisingly quickly. Online gas calculators can show you where the cheapest prices are and help you get an idea of what you'll be spending.

GPS units can really help out when you are traveling in an unknown area. With just the touch of a few buttons they can lead you right to someone's doorstep. It's important to remember, however, that GPS units don't work in all locations. Just in case, don't forget your maps!

Driving far in a car means consistently changing radio stations for ones that a clear. To solve this, make CDs with all of the group's favorite songs so you can jam happily without distracting yourself by trying to find a clear station while driving. This also allows for you guys to listen to music non-stop rather then sit and wait for commercials to end.

When travelling on a road trip, make sure you bring a bag with you for trash. Even people who don't normally eat in the car will during long road trips, especially if you don't want to stop to eat and add more time to your trip. A trash bag can help you keep the mess and clutter to a minimum.

If you're going on a long road trip, try breaking it up into a few segments. Mark a few cities on the way to your final destination where you can stop for a bit. You can get out a stretch, get some food, and otherwise regenerate. You'd be surprised how much faster the trip goes if you break it up.

When traveling by car there are many ways to save money. First, pack your car as lightly as possible, this will help save on gas. Next, if you are renting a car for a large group, rent one SUV and it will save on gas and the cost of renting two vehicles. Also, assure your tire pressure is adequate, as this will help to save on gas, too. Last, use your cars cruise control function as it will run the engine efficiently and is yet another way to save on gas.

The tips and advice you just learned is a great place to start when thinking about your next road trip. When you're actually out traveling then all you want to worry about is having fun, so be on the look out for more traveling tips that can relieve your stress when thinking about traveling.

Ways To Get The Best Flights Deals And Airlines

Best Flight Deals
By FOMO Girl
Traveling is something that you want to always have as much information on as you can, you want to always know better ways to travel so you can save money and time. This article is to serve as a place where you can gain a few tips about flights and an insight into how to travel by plane better in the future.

When traveling, it is important to make sure your airline will suit your needs. Different airlines maintain different niches. Some are inexpensive, some provide superior service, and some cater to far more destinations than others. Before you book any trip by plane, research different airlines first, it might just save you a headache later.  A cheap ticket can lead to a lousy flight experience. Tall individuals can find themselves subject to extremely uncomfortable conditions if the airline provides little legroom. So, research your airline ahead of time, and learn about all the ticket and service options they provide.

Look into seasonal flight prices as you will be able to find a chart that shows when it is cheapest to fly to different destinations. Plan your trip around peak travel dates, instead of in during them, and you will likely find that you will save money on the flight as well as the hotel.

Check prices directly with the airline, as well as online travel sites, in order to save money on your trip. Although it is often small, some search engine sites add a fee to their rates. To avoid the fee, check the airline website directly. You will typically find that the rates are lower when you book directly.

If you are traveling by air, take advantage of advance seat selection. Advance seat selection can help to ensure that you have seats on the plane in the location you are most comfortable in. They can also help you to be sure that you are sitting next to your business associate, significant other, or other traveling partner. Sometimes there is a minimal charge for this feature, but it is well worth the price.

A great travel tip if you want to try to avoid flight delays is to try and take a flight that is as early as possible. Since airports are usually filled to their capacity, if one plane is delayed, more then likely the plane after that will be delayed, too, since it has to wait for the gate to open up.  Depending on your location, early morning fog can be a factor also, causing extensive flight delays, The first flight in the morning should have very limited reasons for a delay.

Most airlines will overbook their flights during busy times or seasons. In the event that too many people show up for the flight, they will need volunteers to take a different flight at a later time, in exchange for vouchers for travel, food and lodging that can be used at a later date. If you aren't in a hurry, you can pay for part of your next vacation!

The tips and advice you just learned is a great place to start when thinking about better ways you can go about traveling. When you're actually out traveling then all you want to worry about is having fun, so be on the look out for more traveling tips that can relieve your stress when thinking about traveling.

Best Travel Search Engines can help you find the best flight and hotel deals. So, now that the travel FOMO is starting to kick in, you should get over to FOMO Travel and get booking your next amazing vacation.

Getting The Best Out Electronics And Technology Whilst Traveling

Traveling with electronics and technology tips
By FOMO Girl
Whether you are leaving town for a weekend getaway, or heading off to a foreign location for weeks on end, traveling brings with it a certain amount of planning. Hopefully the ideas we have for you here in regard to traveling with electronics and technology will help to put your mind at ease, and lead to a successful trip.

If you pack electronics while traveling, either remove the batteries or flip them around. Some small electronics can be easily flipped on. You definitely do not want them flipping on in your bag during the trip. There is a good chance the battery might be drained by the time they are unpacked.

Capturing all of the great memories of your travels on camera can be an amazing part of your trip, but be sure to carry a few extra charged batteries. If you are traveling overseas, you cannot always be sure your charger will work, or that the adapter will fit the plugs. Batteries are small and lightweight, so save yourself the hassle of finding disposable cameras by taking an extra battery or two.

When traveling with a digital camera, always take along an extra memory card. You will most likely be taking more photographs than normal and the card in your camera can fill up quickly. You will also want to put the settings of your camera on the higher resolutions in order to preserve your memories in a print version later, and this will take up more memory space on your card.

Consider purchasing a Wi-Fi detector before you travel on a trip. Not having access to the internet can make trip annoying, particularly for the business traveler. A Wi-Fi detector can help you find a hotspot even when businesses are not advertising that they have it available. You can find these signal detectors on just about anything, including key chains.  You can even get Apps now on your Smartphone that can detect Wi-Fi.

If you travel with many electronics pack a power strip or power board. Though hotels have electrical outlets available it is not uncommon for each person to have 2 or 3 items that need to be charged every night. A power strip can keep the cords relegated to one area instead of strewn all over the room.

If you're traveling on a tight schedule, give yourself the advantage of learning the layout of an unfamiliar airport by using your Smartphone to download an App for the particular airports you are going to. There are plenty out there that give you all the information you need on a specific airport, from locating the restroom to checking arrival and departure times.

If you have a Smartphone, contact your carrier before you leave to find out options on international use. You may be able to pay a fee for the ability to use you phone in a foreign country that would otherwise have been either restricted or very expensive to use.  If not, you need to make sure that your push settings are turned off and your data is switched off whilst roaming, otherwise you will get a massive bill when you get home!

If you're far away from home and find that you've left your phone charger at home, call the front desk of your hotel and explain the situation. Most hotels save the abandoned or forgotten chargers that are left in hotel rooms. If your phone is a fairly common model, it might save you from paying fifty dollars for a charger that you only use for one or two days.

If you are traveling to Europe or Australia with electronic gadgets, remember that the voltage for household outlets is going to be different than in North America. This means that you'll either need to bring a converter so that you can plug American goods into European and Australian power points, or find appliances that can handle a range of voltages.

While traveling is entirely a personal activity for everyone, it does share the main goal of seeing a new place, either for business, family, or to fulfill a dream. As you have seen in these electronic and technology tips, there are various things to know, but it is all created around the idea of making your trip better.

How is that travel FOMO coming along?  You know FOMO Travel has the cure that particular disease.
