SPRING BREAK
USA DESTINATIONS

Panama City Beach

Today when people speak about Spring Break in the USA, they’re often referring to Panama City Beach in Florida. Located on the Florida panhandle, Panama City Beach has over 27 miles of white beaches on the Florida Gulf Coast.   Panama City Beach's moderate prices, outrageous nightlife and more liberal attitudes towards Spring Break activities make it the major destination for Spring Break, with more than 500,000 students making Panama City Beach their Spring Break destination for the past few years.  MTV included Panama City Beach as a destination of choice for its official coverage of Spring Break.  The locals in Panama City Beach are also glad to see Spring Breakers.

Travel packages are offered by several tour operators. Some even offer bus services directly from campus for large groups.  There are many hotels and condos that have special deals for Spring Break.  For the independent travellers, many of the hotels also take bookings directly.  In order to get the best competitive prices use our accommodation booking engines to find the best places for the best prices that suits your needs.

Spring Break Central during the day is the Holiday Inn Resort, which is located on the west side of town where most of the other hotels are located. They have a beachside stage with activities scheduled most of the day. You will also find that most of the corporate sponsored events are staged either at the Holiday Inn Resort or over at the outdoor beach club, Club La Vela.

If you choose to stay at the Holiday Inn Resort you will be right in the middle of party central.  As well as this, fast food and supermarkets are within walking distance of the hotel and they have a refrigerator and microwave in each room. The Holiday Inn Resort does have a beachside grill for pizza, dogs, burgers and beer and a beachside bar. If you opt for a tour operator's meal program, you may find that some of the meals are served there.

You can rent jet skies and sailboats from one of the vendors just off the Holiday Inn Resort beach property. Make sure that you bring your iPod, some suncreen, a good cooler and safety gear. It is a good bet that if you are not in bed recovering, you are going to be tanning on the beach till the sun goes down.

Panama City Beach allows you to drink on the beach, but no glass bottles are allowed.
There are huge clubs and bars that really cater to students. Some of the largest and best  beach clubs in the country call Panama City Beach home and they are all open until 4 am every night.  You only need to be 18 years old to enter these clubs (21 years old to drink though) and you can party and dance all night long.  Panama City Beach is home to Club La Vela, the largest beach club in the United States.

When the sun goes down, plan on being at the world famous Sharkys Beach Bash as seen on MTV. Every Tuesday this event of 4000 Spring Breakers is sold out! It is a must do Party! Finish off the day when dusk comes with the original Pub-Crawl as seen on Girls Gone Wild. This limited- space event will have up to 10 motorcoaches bringing you into the heart of the five hottest clubs and ending at Club La Vela.   For seven weeks a year Panama City Beach turns into the worlds largest strip with it’s own free shuttle service from beachside hotels to all of the major bars and nightclubs like Club La Vela, Hammerhead Fred’s, Sharkys, Calypsos Caribbean Bar & Grill, Spinnaker, Harpoon Harry’s and Hooters.

Since the volume of fun is directly proportional to the size of the party, you will find that it is a good idea to hangout where the scheduled theme parties are. The clubs do have a cover and most of the time the lines are long to get in. If you don’t want to deal with that then you need to get a Panamaniac Club Card, which is your passport to free cover, beer and t-shirts as well as local discounts.

South Padre Island

South Padre Island, Texas is located on the tip of the longest barrier island in the United States.  This tropical resort area, or the “Island” as the locals call it, is surrounded by Laguna Madre Bay on one side and the Gulf of Mexico on the other. The four miles of award winning sand beaches, which has been rated as one of the top beaches in the world, comes alive during Spring Break, hosting some of the most active and wildest events.  Proudly living up to the slogan “Everything’s Big in Texas!” makes South Padre Island one of the hottest Spring Break destinations. South Padre Island offers lots of beachside activities each day during Spring Break. The fact that it is only 30 minutes away from Mexico makes it a potential Two Nation Vacation.

South Padre Island is a growing international destination that depends on seasonal tourism. Spring Break provides a welcome boost to the local economy. The town works together with corporate sponsors to create special Spring Break events that add to the existing recreational activities.

Getting To “The Island” is easy whether you are flying or driving. If you choose to fly most people fly into Brownsville South Padre Island International Airport, which is located around 30 minutes away. If you need flights then check out our Flights booking engines.  They also have inexpensive shuttles that travel back and forth regularly. With the sheer volume of people flooding into the resort town during Spring Break, it’s not uncommon for entire bars and hotels to become hubs of Spring Break activity. In fact, the entire island can feel like an exclusive Spring Break party.  You will find that most of the Spring Break events take place behind the major hotels like the Isla Grand Beach Resort (formerly the Radisson Resort) or the South Padre Beach Resort (formerly Holiday Inn Sunspree).

For the independent travellers, many of the hotels also take bookings directly.  In order to get the best competitive prices use our Accommodation booking engines to find the best places for the best prices that suits your needs.

The tropical weather is perfect to compliment your favorite daytime activities. Jet skis, banana boat rides, parasailing, snorkeling and more are all available for rental. This massive venue also hosts some of the hottest acts of the moment, entertaining crowds free of charge.

Night clubs are another essential ingrediant for a great Spring Break and South Padre Island has several, with heaps of clubs and bars also keeping the party going after sunset.  One of the biggest is CHAOS. It has a dance club, karaoke bar, live bands, a restaurtant , a tattoo parlor and more. Tequila Frogs overlooking Laguna Bay is one of the hottest clubs during Spring Break. Another Spring Break venue overlooking Laguna Bay is Louie's Backyard. Louie’s Backyard hosts nightly live concerts with top name national acts, Hawaiian Tropic bikini contests, DJs and dancing, bungee jumping, rock wall climbing, go carts, and more. It is perhaps the signature club and this hot spot definitely lives up to the hype. Having been featured on MTV, E!, The Travel Channel, and more, this party spot is always jumping for Spring Break. There are a total of about ten nite spots on South Padre Island, and don't forget Crazy Lazy and the other Mexican nite spots South of the Border.  With South Padre Island only a short trip from Mexico. You can enjoy two destinations during your Spring break.  Remember the drinking age in Mexico is only 18.

All South Padre Island beaches are publicly owned and the consumption of alcohol is legally allowed on the beach (kegs included!). Students can BYO and save money because you will avoid paying $8 per drink to the hotel beach bar.

The drinking age in Texas is 21 but you can get into the bars and clubs if you are at least 18. And yes, the bars and clubs are very strict on IDs. If you are under 21 and want to be legal, head to Mexico.

Daytona Beach

If you are looking for a Spring Break with a mix of beer, beach, parties and world class tourist attractions, Daytona Beach is the place.  Daytona Beach has become a major tourist destination with millions of visitors annually.  Daytona Beach is also close enough for daytrips to the theme parks in Orlando.  This amazing 23 mile stretch of wide, white sand beach has long been one of the hottest Spring Break destinations in Florida.

You can take a drive down this famous beach, catch some sun or ride the waves in the Atlantic surf. There are awesome deals on hotels right on the beach and they have one of the hottest nightclub scenes in Florida.

Spring Break daytime events are normally found at the hotels where tour operators have bulk booked rooms.  There are generally things happening like giveaways and contests by corporate sponsors.  Another popular place is the scenic amphitheater, at the end of the boardwalk.  It is called the Bandshell and was built in 1937 and seats 5,000 people for concerts, outdoor weddings and receptions, events or convention activities.  Activities each year include about a half a dozen concerts mid-March at the Bandshell or at local bars. If you like to play on the beach, you will love the activities that range from rock climbing walls, beach volleyball and frisbee tournaments. You can surf the waves, boogie board, jet ski, parasail and other activities that revolve around spending a great day at the beach. You can even rent a motorcycle or a bicycle and explore Daytona’s unique drivable beach.

You will want to get a "Gold Party Card", to get entry to the parties, along with free cover and express entry to bars and nightclubs.

There is no need to drive your car to the clubs at night because the Daytona Beach party bus will get you there safely. This unique, English style red double decker bus provides free rides for Spring Breakers all night long. The party bus makes regular stops at all the major beach hotels, all the best nightclubs and beach bars.

Las Vegas

Remember, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas and this is never a more truer statement than for Spring Break.  Another advantage of Las Vegas is that there is always something going on, so just because it is Spring Break time doesn’t mean that hotel rooms are going to be sky high.  If the room rate plays a big part in making your Spring Break 2013 destination decision, you should take a look at Las Vegas.

Last year, MTV's Headquarters Hotel during MTV's Spring Break, was the The Palms Casino Resort.  The MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, New York-New York, Monte Carlo, Luxor and Excalibur hotels all offer their own Spring Break deals.  These Resorts also have a two month schedule of Spring Break events that anyone can attend, no matter the hotel they book. There are many hotels that have special deals for Spring Break.  You can use our Accommodation booking engines to find the best places for the best prices that suits your needs.

Look for an event filled Spring Break experience in Las Vegas in 2013.  During the MTV's Spring Break event, there will be concerts and celebrity pool parties. Access to the pool parties can be controlled and if you wanted to be guaranted access to the poolside events and parties you have to book through a tour operator.

Red Bull Sound clash sponsored a totally unique clash of sounds, styles and creativity, where two bands don't battle each other, but instead collaborate to create an innovative live music performance. Last year it featured the first-time ever match ups between Cee Lo Green and the Ting Tings.

Of course Vegas always has many general activities going on 24/7, so you will be sure to find something that will sort your party needs.

South Beach, Miami

South Beach, Miami is an up and coming Spring Break location. When the sun goes down, the neon lights go on and South Beach heats up. A favorite destination of those escaping New York in winter, South Beach has always been popular with models, movie stars, and musicians.  Miami is also home for the largest dance music event in the country. If your Spring Break spans March 21st to 30th, catch the Winter Music Festival 2014 or one of the many promotional events staged around the conference.  Now in its 29th year, the Winter Music Festival attracts top international artists, DJs and record labels. Because of the promotional nature of the conference there are usually 20-40 events staged at different nightclubs and hotels. During the day there are spin-offs at various hotel pool decks.  Even if you don't attend the actual conference the events around town make Miami one of the hottest International Spring Break locations.

There is nothing like staying at one of the hotels and condos along the coast of world famous South Beach. There are many hotels and condos that have special deals for Spring Break.  For the independent travellers, many of the hotels also take bookings directly.  In order to get the most competitive prices use our Accommodation booking engines to find the best places for the best prices that suits your needs.

During the day enjoy Miami's beautiful sun drenched beaches. You can lie peacefully in the sun, drink in hand of course, and work on your tan until the sun sets when you can hit the clubs.  The nightlife is unrivaled in Florida and the clubs stay open until dawn.  There are two things to consider if you are headed for South Beach. First, make sure everyone in your party is 21. Second, make sure that you have enough money to enjoy your stay.

You can drink on the beach, but no glass bottles are allowed!

There are corporate sponsored events during the day by MTV and Playboy. There is no large venue beachside, so the events are generally located in several hotels.
